Sample File Notes

  • Most MDM/R technical interface sample files display in .txt file format but have a .dat file extension.  Users may need to configure their Windows "Folder Options" in order to associate the DAT file type with an application such as “Wordpad” or “Notepad” to view the samples.
  • Nine of the Service Delivery Points contained within the Periodic Audit Synchronization Interfaces correspond with scenarios described in the SME's IAT Scenario Run 10 Details document.
  • Nine of the Service Delivery Points associated with the Incremental Synchronization Interfaces correspond to scenarios described in the SME's IAT Scenario Run 11 Details document.
  • If you are using Internet Explorer, please note that your browser may not recognize the Elster Meter Read Interface sample file. To use the correct file extension, please right click on the document link and save the file to your computer with a .txt extension.  You should then be able to view the file on your computer as a text file.
  • Web Services Interfaces: Each sample file in this group contains an example of both a request message and a reply message for each transaction type. If you are using Internet Explorer, please note that your browser may incorrectly try to view the files in XML format.  To use the correct file extension, please right click on the link and save the file to your computer with a .txt extension.  You should then be able to view the file on your computer as a text file.
